Our course location San José / Heredia is situated in one of the most beautiful countries in the world: Costa Rica has a breathtaking natural beauty that can hopefully be preserved by the large amount of national parks that have been founded. The national parks often stretch out until the coastlines and offer some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Costa Ricans tend to pronounce quite clearly which is very helpful for learning Spanish, especially for beginners. Costa Rica is also the country with the lowest crime rate in Central America.

Santo Domingo de Heredia

You will live and learn Spanish in Santo Domingo de Heredia. It is a charming town which is situated right between San José and Heredia in the heart of Central America. The 60,000 inhabitants are known for their friendliness and hospitality, which is ideal for young people with the ambition to learn Spanish. The peacefulness of this lovely little town with its park, beautiful churches and quiet streets will make you feel at ease straight away. There are also plenty of shopping- and sport facilities, restaurants, cinemas etc. just a short distance away.

Costa Rica - ’the rich coast’; this is what Christopher Columbus once called this area. However, the country located between Panama and Nicaragua has much more to offer than just a stunning coastline. It is not a big country (you can compare its size to Switzerland), but it is nevertheless considered one of the most diverse countries in the world!

A third of the country’s surface is protected and large areas of the land have been declared national parks, many of which have not yet been explored. If you visit some of Costa Rica’s many national parks, you will have the opportunity to discover a unique flora and fauna! You might come across exotic birds, monkeys, turtles, tapirs or even jaguars or crocodiles.

Costa Rica is considered one of the most progressive and safest countries in Latin America, which attracts many visitors. When you come to Costa Rica in June, July or August during the ’Green Season’, you will experience both rain and sunshine. However, at an average temperature of 22 °C/75 °F, you can‘t really speak of bad weather, can you?
